University of Florida women’s basketball legend DeLisha Milton-Jones became the WNBA’s all-time career games-played leader tonight, as she appeared in the 497th game of her illustrious professional career.
The Gator great passed Tina Thompson atop the all-time list when she entered the game with 7:47 remaining in the second quarter for the visiting Atlanta Dream and 21 seconds later corralled an offensive rebound against the Indiana Fever.
Born September 11, 1974, Milton-Jones is the oldest player in the WNBA broke Tina Thompson’s all-time record of 496 WNBA games played. The two-time WNBA All-Star is one of just five players who has recorded at least 5,000 points and 2,400 rebounds. Milton-Jones’ 2014 WNBA season came to a disappointing end when she tore her Achilles tendon.
