The University of Florida women’s basketball team kicks off a season-long four-game homestand Wednesday, Nov. 28 when it hosts the Northeastern Huskies for a 7 p.m. tilt at the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center.
The contest will be streamed live on SEC Network+ with Bernie Guenther & Brittany Davis on the call while Kyle Crooks and Kelly Davis will handle the radio broadcast on ESPN 98.1 FM/850 AM.

Fans are invited to celebrate the beginning of “Holiday SZN” with Florida women’s basketball as Wednesday marks the start of the exciting promotion. Each home game from Nov. 28 – Dec. 30 will have a fun holiday-themed aspect and Wednesday night, the first 100 fans will get a free slice of pumpkin pie.
The Gators, who have played three of their last four contests away from Gainesville, took on 2018 WNIT Champion Indiana in their most recent action on Wednesday, Nov. 21. Florida held a 19-17 edge after the first quarter but saw the host Hoosiers pull away in the third quarter and register an 83-74 victory. Delicia Washington put together an impressive stat line, leading the team in scoring (22), rebounds (7) and assists (4) while Kiki Smith also finished in double figures with a season-best 14 points. Seven Gators scored in the game which tied a season best while the team dished out a season-high 14 assists.
Northeastern, who was slated to finish fifth in the Colonial Athletic Association this season, is off to its first 5-0 start since the 1982-83 season. The Huskies have played four of their five contests at home and Wednesday will be just their second road test of the young season. In its most recent action, Northeastern earned a 54-41 win over Air Force after holding the Falcons to just 14 first half points. The Huskies rank second in the CAA in rebounding margin (8.2) and assists per (16.8) while checking in at third in scoring defense (55.8). Senior Jess Genco carries the load offensively for the Huskies, averaging 16.0 points per game while Shannon Todd also averages double figures at 10.4. Northeastern is under the direction of fifth-year head coach Kelly Cole, a graduate of Northwestern, who the Gators hosted on Nov. 18. Cole has amassed a record of 52-75 during her tenure in Boston.
UF is 6-1 all time against the Colonial Athletic Conference, including a 1-0 mark against Northeastern. The Huskies and Gators last met on Dec. 28, 1988 when UF won, 73-69 in the La Salle Christmas Tournament played in Philadelphia.
After hosting Northeastern, UF is set to host Texas Tech Sunday, Dec. 2 as part of the SEC/Big 12 Challenge as the Gators look to earn a victory in the event for the second-straight season after winning at Oklahoma a season ago.

- Florida enters the week featuring the league’s top two scorers in Funda Nakkasoglu (19.4) and Delicia Washington (19.2). Texas A&M’s Chennedy Carter is the only player in the SEC averaging at least 19 points per game (19.0).
- Nakkasoglu leads the SEC averaging 3.4 three-pointers per game and ranks second in the league in three-point percentage (.531).
- Washington has finished in double figures in all five games for UF; she has 40 double-figure scoring efforts in her career.
