Gators Place Four on SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll

April 22, 2021

Four University of Florida women’s basketball players have earned a spot on the SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll, as the league announced its honorees for the annual academic awards Wednesday afternoon.

Faith Dut, Kristina Moore, Danielle Rainey and Nina Rickards were all honored for their academic achievements. Dut and Rickards, both sophomores, are first time honorees while Moore achieved honor roll status for the second time and for Rainey, a UF graduate, it was her third time earning the achievement.

Wednesday marks the fourth straight season at least four women’s basketball players have been tabbed to the SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll.

The 2021 SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2020 Spring, Summer and Fall terms.

To be recognized to the SEC Academic Honor Roll, each student-athlete must 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letterwinner or have participated on a varsity team for two years if non-scholarship; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport’s entire NCAA Championship segment.

In total, the Gators placed 62 student-athletes on the list.
