Alberte Rimdal Named to Denmark National Team

Florida women’s basketball guard Alberte Rimdal was named to the Denmark National Team and will play in the Mitsui Fudosan Cup, part of the International Basketball Games 2023 this summer, the Danmarks Basketball Forbund announced.
Denmark and Rimdal will face off against the 2020 Olympic Silver Medalist Japan National Team in a three-game series that will be played from June 16-18 at the Takasaki Arena. This year, Japan is ranked ninth in FIBA’s world rankings, while Denmark is ranked No. 52.
Rimdal appeared in all 34 games during the 2022-23 season, starting 33 of them during her sophomore season. The Koge, Denmark native averaged 8.5 points per game this past season, knocking down 38.2% of her three-point attempts. Rimdal put up a career-high 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting against Tennessee back in December to go along with five assists and three rebounds.
Rimdal has previous international experience, playing in over 50 games on the national level for her home country since she was 15. She averaged 13.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists in the 2019 U18 European Championship, while putting together break-out performances at the FIBA U16 Women’s European Championship, compiling averages of 18.1 points per game, 3.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists.
