The Southeastern Conference announced that Leilani Correa and Paige Clausen were both named to the SEC First Year Academic Honor Roll.
Correa currently ranks as a senior for the Gators, studying Education Sciences. Last season Correa played in 27 games for Florida going 113-of-279 from the field, and grabbing 98 rebounds. Correa is one of the many significant returners for the 2023-24 roster.
Clausen is entering her junior year at Florida and is majoring in finance. The six-foot forward played in 15 games last year during her inaugural season as a Gator. Clausen has played an important role for the Gators and is looking to expand that role in the coming season.
Today’s announcement sets Florida’s record at 402 for total of student-athletes named to a 2022-23 SEC Academic Honor Roll to 402. The previous record of 378 was set in 2020-21 and equaled last season. Florida placed 322 on SEC Academic Honor Rolls (113 on fall list; 72 winter, 137 on spring) and 80 on the First-Year Honor Roll.
To be recognized for the SEC Academic Honor Roll, each student-athlete must meet the following criteria: 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letter-winner or have participated on a varsity team for two years if non-scholarship; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport’s entire NCAA Championship segment.
