The Gators will host Ole Miss for their second meeting of the 2023-24 season on Thursday evening at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. Florida will be coming off a big road win against Mississippi State defeating the Bulldogs 90-70 on Sunday, Feb. 11. Ole Miss will come to Gator Nation after a bye-week with their last time out resulting in a 72-53 home loss against Texas A&M. Overall, the Gators are looking to redeem themselves over the Rebels and extend their two-game winning streak.

THE SERIES:
The current series between Florida and Ole Miss is in favor of the Gators at 24-19. The Gators lead the record over Ole Miss by five victories and are seeking another victory to notch the all-time series margin to six.
HISTORY:
Florida and Ole Miss have met a recorded 43 times in their respective school histories and they have faced each other previously this season. The most recent matchup was on Jan. 25, in Oxford, with the Rebels defeating the Gators 81-70. Ole Miss shot 28.6 percent from the three and 50.8 from the field, compared to the Gators’ 38.3 field percentage and 41.2 percent from the three. Florida’s last win over Ole Miss was on the road and dates back to Jan. 24, 2021. Florida defeated Ole Miss 78-68 back in 2021 and has been on a four-game losing streak against the Rebels since.

The Gators had a solid week of conference play and are coming off back-to-back wins against Arkansas (85-81), and Mississippi State (90-70). Florida’s most recent matchup took place in Starkville, with five Gators recording double-figures in scoring to garner the 20-point victory margin. Overall, the Gators were led by Leilani Correa with a 27-point outing. Correa went 9-of-16 from the field, 5-8 from the three, and recorded two steals for the Gators. Zippy Broughton also posted 16 points for Florida.

Overall Ole Miss is led by Marquesha Davis with 310 points this season, averaging 13.5 a game. Closely following is Madison Scott with an average of 10.6 and a season total of 234. Scott is also leading on the boards for Ole Miss this season grabbing 5.8 rebounds per game. Rita Igbokwe isn’t far behind on the boards with 5.6 a game and Tyia Singleton holds an average of 5.4 rebounds per game.
Ole Miss comes to Gainesville on Thursday after a bye week. The Rebels last time out was on Thursday, Feb. 8, against Texas A&M, falling 72-53. Ole Miss had two players in double digits for scoring: Madison Scott recorded 15 points, and Snudda Collins totaled 14. The Rebels were shooting 36.4 percent from the field which was no match to the Aggie’s 45 percent and 100 percent from the free throw line.
